PURPOSE
We Need to be Pallbearers for Old Ways of Being and Channels for New Ways.
Human beings desperately need new ways to relate to ourselves, each other, and nature. Our collective choices over the last 400-500 years have prioritized technological and economic advancement and neglected life and relationships. We have created technological abundance but lack the will and skills to solve social problems like climate change, racism, poverty, violence, and sexually and gender based discrimination.
Visionary Organizing, a term coined by Grace Lee Boggs, aims to resolve this contradiction between our technological overdevelopment and our human underdevelopment so that we might exist differently. Visionary Organizing Lab exists to teach Visionary Organizing to individuals, groups and organizations, and students to nurture their leadership and usher in new ways of existing.
